Aerial Cableway Hartbeespoort
Panoramic views of the beautiful Magaliesberg, Hartbeespoort Dam and surrounding areas. An ideal family day trip you’ll want to repeat! Kids can wander along the Dassie Loop walkway, where educational placards describe points of interest, or play in the KidZone. Restaurants, express food stalls and a bar are all on site, as are picturesque seating areas and bomas.

Bushbabies Monkey Sanctuary
Situated west of Hartbeesport Dam alongside the Elephant Sanctuary it provides an environment where monkeys (primates) can be given their freedom in a natural environment.
The Sanctuary positioned in one of the many Kloofs (Gorges) of the Magaliesberg mountain range provides the perfect environment for monkeys from around the world.
The Elephant Sanctuary offers an exciting, fully comprehensive elephant experience. We offer an exclusive, ‘hands-on’, educationally oriented experience with 5 African Elephants. Maropeng Visitors Centre
The visitors centre at Maropeng showcases the Cradle of Humankind World Heritage Site and the unprecedented quantity of hominid fossils discovered in this area. Hominin House Learner Facility- green facility, dormitories; dining hall and outdoor activities. A boat ride takes visitors through the life-giving elements of water, ice, earth and fire and thereafter interactive displays provide an understudying of the unique characteristics of modern humankind and impart a multitude of intriguing facts about the human population. The visitors centre is open 7 days a week, daily from 9am to 5pm, and the last boat ride departs at 4pm.
The Sterkfontein Caves in the Cradle of Humankind World Heritage Site is one of the richest and most productive paleao-anthropological hominid fossil sites in the world, having yielded some of the most valuable and oldest evidence of the origins of humankind ever found. The caves are open daily from 9am to 5pm. Guided tours are available and the last tour departs at 4pm. Booking is advisable as visitors numbers are limited.
